Pretty much every independent film composer bio I’ve read reads the same. Some sort of schooling or training. Some sort of shadow experience or internship. Some sort of award I’ve never heard of. Well, I’ve got none of those.

I just kept making film scores instead. About 25 and counting to be exact.

I’m a lifelong lover of film and a lifelong musician, recognizing from my childhood the wondrous power music has on a line of dialogue, montage, or hero-sequence. I came to film scoring out of my love for the emotional impact instrumental music has when paired with pictures after a decade of playing in pop, rock, country, and indie bands.

Giving back to the composer community through education is important to me, and I guide students through getting started in film composing, as well as share educational content for free online in addition to being a guest speaker for film students at major university film programs

I also have nearly a decade of experience in the technology business and project management, meaning you are working with an organized professional business manager who has extensive experience working with leaders of Fortune 500 companies and mid-market business executives.

Combining my passions in music, film, and technology, I am also the CEO and Founder of filmcues.io, a workflow and project management software for film composers to better manage the end-to-end scoring process and collaborate with teams.
